Our commitment to circular economy
The increase in the share of recyclable packaging films and laminates produced is a common challenge for us and our customers.
The largest European packaging recipients, including our customers, have committed to be recyclable by the end of 2025.
The “European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy”, which is crucial for packaging manufacturers, sets a clear goal by 2030 – no recyclable or otherwise recoverable waste will be accepted for landfilling.
EU regulations clearly define the rules for the development of technology for the next dozen or so years. These packaging will be made of homogeneous materials suitable for reuse in the economy. In the case of the food industry, laminates will have structures based mainly on polypropylene and polyethylene films.
Such decisions are one hundred percent in line with the predictions of Alupol Packaging, which already in 2014 decided to implement large investments in polypropylene processing. Previous investments in blowing lines were a reinforcement of the development of polyethylene processing technology.
Since 2017, our Group has been one of the largest and most modern manufacturers of BOPP polypropylene film in Europe.
100% of our BOPP films are recyclable, becoming more and more often the main component of food industry packaging. The Alupol Packaging Group, which is the largest manufacturer of flexible packaging in the country, has committed itself to designing only recyclable laminates by 2030.

Waste management
Waste management is another monitored process at Alupol companies, and its management is in accordance with EU and national regulations. The variable amount of waste generated is mainly due to the commissioning of new installations and technologies, which is why we indicate the amount of waste generated per tonne of product as the base value.
